Yesterday was Apple’s Time Flies event, which took place in Apple Park, California. This event took place via video streaming online and no one was physically present at the event due to social distancing restrictions. Although we’re still waiting for the new iPhone that Apple keep teasing us with, there was plenty for Apple enthusiasts to get excited about. Family Set Up Allows you to Manage Numerous Apple Watches from one iPhone
During yesterdays event, Apple have presented a family feature that permits you to manage several Apple Watches from a parents iPhone. This will give families some license to allow their children to have an Apple Watch as they can monitor their activity on the watch. The only drawback of this announcement is that it requires the Apple Watch to have a cellular connection and it will only be functional on series 4 devices or more recent models. This new feature can massively help with child safety as you can monitor who their child is in contact with and regular location notifications being sent to your iPhone.
Blood Oxygen Monitoring on the new Apple Watch Series 6
Apple have introduced a ground breaking feature, where you can measure your blood oxygen saturation with the new Apple Watch. This Series 6 model is powered by an s6 chip which is based on the A13 Bionic dual core processor in the iPhone 11. The new Apple Watch model comes in a variety of new colours: blue aluminium, graphite and gold stainless steel. Also, for the first time there is a red model! Another exciting new feature is that there a brand-new wrist band called the Solo Loop. This wrist band comes in a collection of sizes and colours and is made of stretchable silicone.
A More Affordable Apple Watch!
Apple have introduced a more affordable Apple Watch onto the market, the Apple Watch SE. It has exactly the same features as the Series 6 model, however, it’s powered by the same s5 chip that powers the Series 5 model. Another thing was we have learnt is that there isn’t an always-on display on the SE model. Apple have made this match a more affordable version, although, there still is cheaper on the market, the Apple Watch Series 3.
Apple’s Very Own Fitness Subscription Service
Another exciting announcement that come out of the event was the launch of Fitness Plus. The service will integrate with iPhone, iPad & Apple TV, however they have said that it’s primarily built for the Apple Watch. There are 10 different workout types within in app and new workouts will be included each week. The service will be up and running by the end of this year.
The Introduction of the iPad Air
The event wasn’t only about the 15th September wasn’t just about watches. Apple have introduced the new-look iPad Air with the new A14 Bionic chip. The iPad Air has a larger 10.9 in display, with a Touch ID built in and there is no longer a home button. Another important new feature is the range of colours you can get the device in, ranging from Green to Rose Gold.
Apple One Subscription Bundles
During the event the technology giants have announced that they have introduced a subscription bundle ‘Apple One’. This is set to bring together Apple products in one package. This will be developed in tiers. The cheapest package will include Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Arcade and 50GB of iCloud Storage.
