This week there have been software updates for all of the Apple devices including iPhone, Mac & iPad. Due to this update, the iPhone 12 Pro has now got support for Apple’s brand-new ProRAW image format. There has also been an update of privacy information regarding third-party apps.
The main focus of the recent software updates is adding support for Apple Fitness+ and the AirPods Max to a host of operating systems. The software update will also fix some of the bugs that needed looking at.
Introducing the iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3
The new iPhone operating system updates official notes say “iOS 14.3 includes support for Apple Fitness+ and AirPods Max. This release also adds the ability to capture photos in Apple ProRAW on iPhone 12 Pro, introduces Privacy information on the App Store, and includes other features and bug fixes for your iPhone. “The iPad 14.3 official notes read very similarly.
The AirPods Max are the company’s new over the ears headphones and are available to order now from £549. The Apple Fitness + is a monthly subscription service that was released this month. It costs £9.99 a month or £79.99 a year.
macOS Big Sur 11.1
This is the first substantial update Apple have carried out on the macOS Big Sur, which was released in November of this year. This was a huge upgrade for the Mac, as it is the largest design change in two decades. Here are the release notes for the macOS Big Sur 11.1 “macOS Big Sur 11.1 introduces support for AirPods Max, TV app enhancements, Apple News widgets, and privacy information on the App Store. This release also includes bug fixes for your Mac.”
We have also seen updates for the watchOS 7.2 and tvOS 14.3
The new software update for the watchOS 7.2 is primarily focussed on support for the Apple Fitness+, the workout service Apple has revealed is built around the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is required for the new fitness service. This is made possible with the latest watchOS 7.2 update. The tvOS has seen updates with the new tvOS 14.3, this update brings changes to Apple TV set-top boxes.
